The Restore spell will allow me to clear away The Lurge, the weird corruption stuff that's everywhere in Aveum. Kirkan said it was a side effect of using too much magic in the world. I don't understand how that works, but the Immortals have a mandate to clear the corruption wherever we find it.

Sandrakk says that the Immortals Mandate isn't just about cleaning up corruption here and there. Ultimately, when an Immortal retires, they are sent to clean up some larger portion of Lucium ruined by the war, using a ritual that sacrifices their life, their magic, and their very soul. He said that's why Thaddeus really abandoned his post as Grand Magnus. If this is true, why wouldn't Kirkan tell me?
