I just meditated on the subject. Again. And I'll admit it. It still has me perplexed. How did he do it? How did Jak survive that fall into the Mala-Dar? I keep coming back to the same nonsensical answer-- something to do with him being both an Unforeseen and a Triarch. Being either one is rare enough on its own.

Mastery of all Three Laws of the Ionicus-- physicality to rebuild his broken body, energy to get his heart beating again, and life to reestablish his mind and his spirit? All combined with the mercurial (and explosive) nature of a Candle of Shelehd? Damn it, I'm not buying it. Even Akoth's works on the Children of the Rivers yields no insight. Tomorrow I return to my meditations for further rumination.
