The legend is that The Path doesn't really even exist in our reality, but in one created by the ancient Aristeya as a deadly testing ground for Magni. The Immortals use it for Selection, and those few who pass its tests can join their ranks. The others may not survive at all. It's evidently also... alive.

Oh, nice. That whole thing where failing in the Path resulted in being "absorbed into it and removed from existence"? Totally not true. Just something they tell first timers. Makes sense not to kill your best magni in a test when you can just put them back on the front lines of the Everwar.
