23rd of the Month of Awe

The Lightless are what they call people that are born with little or no magic, like me. The Unforeseen are people who suddenly gain a massive amount of magic out of nowhere. Also like me. Neither are viewed very favorably by the Magni Dynasties, which makes me a pariah twice over.

Silas Mede reminds me of a lot of the lightless soldiers I've met during my time with the Lights Army. Earnest, dutiful, and with an almost unhealthy amount of reverence for the magni. The dynastic families have carefully cultivated a social hierarchy to make sure of the latter. They need the lightless masses to believe in them without question. It will never not infuriate me.
