Since even before the Aristeya discovered the Palathon, its halls have been occupied by a mysterious cadre of masked stewards-- silent individuals who attend to the needs and maintenance of the floating fortress. No one knows where they're from or how they got there, but their primary concern (apparently) is with the preservation of the Palathon itself. Each Steward is trained and dedicated to a particular school of magic. Some people believe that they created the Palathon themselves. Others say that they were once Magni who gave the entirety of their beings to the Ionicus.
