I had higher hopes for you, son. Had you not been so self-satisfied with your discoveries in the Shrouded Realm, you might have seen how Sandrakk's plan was not only the most strategically sound but also the one that left the future's security intact.

A joint strike on the Pentacade by Rasharn and Lucium was a guaranteed success. The Mala-Dar would have been cleansed and contained. I admit, the Wound would not have started shrinking, but ask yourself what happens to Lucium when it does. Or Kalthus. Rasharn. Any of the kingdoms. When lands begin to grow back, and their kingdoms get larger, it becomes harder to keep them safe. Armies will need to grow in step with the Wound's withdrawal. When a leyline is finally accessible because it now has land below it, new battlegrounds will form.

Are you prepared for this escalation? An escalation that happens alongside the social upheaval the Aelori will bring? Certainly you don't think that the dynasties will broker any peace that includes their losing dominion over magic. Such a threat will break alliances, foment discontent, and destabilize Lucium.

I told you that the world was ending that day because of your choices. And you once told me that winning an Everwar was impossible. Neither of us was wrong, but I doubt you knew that you'd be the one to extend it in such new and dangerous directions.

Congratulations.

Kirkan, House Arjitane
