3rd of the Month of Ordeal

I ran into Rook, the leader (?) of the Aelori, who agreed to take me to Thaddeus in exchange for some favors down the road. He's a far cry from what the stories make the Aelori out to be-- he's menacing, but not a monster. Certainly not a demon that wants to devour all of my magic. He talks like some of the old crime bosses in Seren. I might even be starting to like him.

4th of the Month of Retreat

Rook was the first of the Aelori. He led them to Aveum to undertake the Pentacade's plan for magic-- humans would use magic to create wonders, the Aelori would safely return it to the Fonts in the Shrouded Realm. We... really, really screwed up.

7th of the Month of Retreat

I want to say that I knew Rook would change his mind and help us, but I'd be fooling myself. When he and the Aelori showed up, that's the moment things started to change. They're moving fast now. I guess that's how time feels when it's literally running out.

10th of the Month of Retreat

Stumbled on Rook in the Underdwell. He says he's not homesick, but I don't know if that's true. He's made his peace with the Pentacade, and even with the reason for his own existence. That last part's not something a lot of people can say. I'm happy for him.
