Should this find you, know that I have a theory on the phenomenon at the base of the Pentacade. That locus of malignant energy is most likely the result of a tremendous amount of “used up” magic suddenly flooding into Aveum, a byproduct of an extremely powerful spell Sandrakk has cast to prevent other Magni from accessing the leylines.

Since the spell functions perpetually, the inflood of said magic causes the Wound to widen at an even faster rate. I suspect that even if dispelled, the locus will not withdraw, nor the Wound's expansion slow. The damage already done is too severe for that.
